Dr. Doug Moore grew up in Mountain Grove, MO. He graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1986 and married his highschool sweetheart, Shelly, in 1987. Before deciding on a career in optometry, he worked in several aspects of the auto industry. He reentered the educational system in 1991 and attended Missouri State University where he majored in Cell and Molecular Biology and minored in Chemistry. Dr. Moore graduated with honors from the Southern College of Optometry (Memphis, TN) in 1999 and opened a new practice in Mountain Grove in July of that year. The practice has remained in the same location and is recognized as the leading source of primary eye care in our area. His professional interests include the following: 1. Preventative and wellness eyecare for the entire family. 2. Contact lens fitting 3. Treatment and management of eye disease including glaucoma 4. Emergency eyecare for infections, allergies and injuries 5. Cataract and Lasik surgical comanagement
Dr. Moore with a young, Brazilian girl. (Old school used as eye clinic) Dr. Moore has headed eye teams on several mission trips including two in Cuiaba, Brazil. His wife Shelly assisted during the trips. Dr. Moore's community involvement has included numerous boards including YMCA and the Mountain Grove Community Foundation. He is an active member of Second Baptist Church (www.secondbaptist.org) in Springfield, MO. He currently lives in Rogersville with his wife and three children, Ashlyn, Alex and Grace. His personal interests include spending time with his family, running, biking and adventure races. Dr. Moore is a member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, and the Greater Ozarks Optometric Society. A personal note: I feel incredibly blessed and thankful for God's providence over my life. I love my family very much and I really enjoy what I do. It's a great feeling to know that I can help people improve their daily quality of life through good vision. |
